Do you ever alter the track listing on albums you listen to?
Just curious.
I have a few times. Beggars Banquet, for example.

No I never do, I feel like the artist put the songs in that order for a reason, and, unless I've never heard the album before, whenever I listen to an album with the songs in a different order, it feels off and I don't enjoy it as much. Nothing wrong with you if you do, I just prefer to listen to my albums in the order they were meant to be played in. And plus if you're listening to a concept album, that can really ruin the experience, wouldn't it?

This.
I've had times where I've ripped a cd straight to my iPod and CDDB has got the wrong song names for the album, or the right names in the wrong order, and I've not noticed it. Then when I listen to the album on the iPod and hear a song I like, go to send a youtube video to a friend and I have the wrong name for it... and end up sending a completely different song to what I'd intended. Luckily for me, this hasnt happened too often. Bit embarrassing when it does though lol |

I used to listen to albums on shuffle, until I realized how annoying it was...now whenever I start listening to an album and I realize I left shuffle on, I always start it from the beginning, regardless which number it shuffled to.

If you're not exactly a fan of the order it's already in, I guess that could be a reason. Like if the album had a weak closer and there was one earlier on the album that you felt suited the end better you could switch them. Just a thought.
Yeah.

One thing I will do, if there is a skit or something, or the end of a song has talking on it - after the first listen I most likely end up skipping those parts. I just want the music, not some useless inane drivel

I kind of just take it as it is. I generally don't think I could make the album sound much better by rearranging it. Plus, if I can make it sound better by switching the order round then the producer of the record has failed. Just for the record, Sgt Peppers sucks. I dunno why I used that as an example. |

I always thought it was funny how it's so critically acclaimed and yet everyone I know really hates it. I don't like it either even though I have one or two plays for it on my last.fm. I'm really feeling some irony here. >.>
