Certain less-whiney Bright Eyes songs (Going for the Gold, A Song to Pass the Time, Movement of a Hand) are good (though I've found that liking them is a bit of an aquired taste). American Football's "Never Meant" is good for some kinds of sadness. Anything from Guster's "Goldfly" is good for all-purpose sadness. Kite Flying Society or Saetia can be good for angry sadness. The Silver Jews have a sort of vaguely sad aura. Oh yeah, and The Promise Ring's "Nothing Feels Good" is also good. I hope one of these suggestions works for you, and assuming you're asking because you're sad, I hope you feel better....

Check out Pink Floyd's the Wall It's rammed with depressing songs the best of wich has to be a short little ditty called Goodbye Cruel World.
Alternatively you could listen to an album by Bon Jovi all the way through,i would find that very depressing. |
