I'm sorry for dodging rules slightly, feel free to delete this if you please, but I was just wondering if there's anyone who isn't really into Sonic Youth who'd like to give them a listen? I was gonna make a playlist of one song from each album in chronological order and upload it somewhere so you could download, so it'll be16 tracks. So yeah. Anyone? Let me ken!

Adorable - Against Perfection (1993)

We both have a very similar taste in music and i've really been enjoying this album lately so i thought you might like it as well. This band were initially lumped in with shoegaze in the early 90's but they pretty much broke the mold with this album, their strong songwriting abilities and memorable tunes distanced themselves somewhat from their peers. Their record label Creation however didn't bother much with them and crippled the band's commercial potential.

For the Bob and the Folkslave because I think they'd really enjoy this album, upbeat, fun folk-punk with great male/female vocals.

first off...i agree with what you said in the "albums i'm digging thread"....2010 was just a really good year for music

this choice was perfect for the "spirit" of this thread....as this is just out of my "comfort" zone....but i think you may have accomplished getting me really interested in folk-punk with this album and the link you sent also....seriously thank you!....what a great label!

this is a perfect example of the progression of good punk rock music....the lyrics are witty, fun, and even a bit political...without being out right preachy....the music is fun, upbeat, and eclectic....i also feel that if it were heavily distorted it could probably rival some of the faster "punk" bands out there.....i'm on my second listen now and i've the little heart button at least four time.....thanks man!

It's a poppy math rock album. At first listen, I didn't like this album at all, but after giving it another chance, I realized there are a lot of underlying rythms and whatnot, which might be his type of music. I'm not sure. I saw a few math rock bands on his lastfm, and figured I would give this a shot.

It's Spanish (sorry!) but it's a fantastic Post Hardcore album and one of my faves. Just hope you haven't heard it before.

More to come for other members.

Terrific album. It begins with a mother of a blowout and ends in very much the same fashion. It's a very energetic album but it also has a lot of emotional depth, one or two tracks have particularly downbeat and melancholy moments and are quite doomy altogether. The vocals seem to be screamed in agony most of the time and the guitars are loud and fresh.

yuo have very eclectic charts...i did notice that you lean towards some pretty political music....Thrall was a short lived band from beautiful Kalamazoo MI...i can't really describe what they sound like....it's pretty unique stuff....
