what a way to start the new year!!!!....this is damn near perfect....i was not expecting something so somber and yet so full of light....right from the beginning there is multiple layers to the music...and that voice is amazing....it's interesting...upon reading about him it says that he was interested in just how music makes a person cry and that is what inspired him to start making music....i tell ya what....i've listened to this album at least 6 times now....and although i have not cried yet....i can almost guarantee that it could bring me to tears if i was in the right 'set'....this is deeply emotional and real in both musical instrumentation and lyrics

top notch jackhammer....thank you

an interesting side note is that he was a memeber of the short lived Coil tribute band This Immortal Coil....and is behind the most bone chilling song on their album Red Queen....you should really check it out if you have not already

Ok, I'm sending an album to RezZ first since he opened this very interesting thread (not to mention that I'm already a fan of Weekly Music Trading Post :)). I'm not really sure what's the range of your taste RezZ, but it's obvious you like stoner rock. If I'm not mistaken you also like psychedelic, space and kraut rock? So I'm sending you the first album of this 'avant-progressive' French band from the 70s, Lard Free (that I recently discovered myself).

Lard Free - Lard Free (1973)

Very interesting album, a blend of progressive rock, jazz, kraut rock and a further proof that France had a rich scene in 70s. I'm not sure how far from your taste this is, but I hope you'd find it interesting.

For the Bob and the Folkslave because I think they'd really enjoy this album, upbeat, fun folk-punk with great male/female vocals.

Lard Free - Lard Free (1973)

Well this was extremely odd and seemed to have almost no song structure and at some points just noise. BUT I really liked it. Dont forget I listen to Buckethead like its a religion and bands like Sun that are just walls of noise. My favorite track was probably 12 ou 13 (the short version) as it had a good deal of guitar noodling. I can tell there clearly well trained talented musicians making a off beat jazzish type album. Thanks Dank, I didnt go in with much confidence but after listening I really enjoyed it. After I listen to some more Goatsnake i shall give it yet another listen.

Ps: I read on last fm where the name comes from and thought that was kind of cool.
