It reminds me of Editors and post-punk revival bands like that, I never really listened to Joy Division or any of that New Wave stuff, but this seems much more modern, which I enjoy. Then I saw this album was from 15 years ago and was even more impressed. So thank you!

i guess i kind of did elude to it sounding like Joy Division....sorry they really sound nothing like Joy Division....except the vocals are similar....i'm glad you dig them....they are one of those forgotten gems from the 'K' and 'Up!' records....i'm honestly surprised that more people don't check them out simply due to their ties with Modest Mouse.....

i had a bvit of trouble with the link you gave me....it downloaded fine but for some reason my computer did not want to "unzip" the entire album....it kept stopping at track 7....i found another copy that worked fine and will start listening to it.....thanks again for this....i've seen the name numerous times here and have been curious

for rammetal7:

The Cramps - Smell Of Female

you love metal, seem to enjoy great classic rock....and have explored punk and alternative rock....so here is some great roots music....i honestly cannot describe The Cramps....except to say that what they do is perfect for what it is....and this album (their 3rd i believe) is an absolute testament to their perfection....enjoy

for FaSho:

Current 93 & Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson (HÖH) - Island
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_cU7KDumGTa...991)Island.jpg

just reading all of your journals....and many of your posts throughout the years....i honestly think you may have not heard anything quite like this....and that you will enjoy it....Current 93 is a neofolk band from England who mainly consists of one man...David Tibet....Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson is from Iceland and has been in many bands included the influence Icelandic band 'Þeyr', Psychic TV, and The Halfer trio....as well as working with such artists as Sigur Rós and Steindór Andersen ....as well as composing music for many films

enjoy

@RVCA and bob.
Thank You! I will listen to them when I can and I will tell you what I think about them when I'm done.

For theFolkslave, I hope you don't have this one.

Laura Stevenson and the Cans- A Record
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_YRdYCw_a8P...nsarecords.jpg

I love this record, it's about the best folk rock record I've ever heard, Laura Stevenson is a wonderful vocalist, very relaxing songs, really good lyrics. Definitely my number 1 or 2 from this past year.

It doesn't look like you have them in your library, so I'm gonna hook you up with one of my top 5 records ever, Genghis Tron's 2008 masterpiece "Board Up The House".

It's an acquired taste for some, but once it hits you, it's nothing short of mindblowing. Genghis Tron are a mathcore band that do not make use of a drummer or a bassist but instead consist of a guitarist, two keyboardists (one of which who does vocals) and a drum machine. According to Wikipedia, they have elements of "IDM, doom metal, electronic and ambient, in addition to their core style of synth-laden metal". This is one of the few albums that I would give a perfect score to. Have fun, this album is insane.

^That's such a great album. I hope RVCA enjoys it as much as I do.

Demdike Stare- Liberation Through Hearing.
A deep step into droney waters populated by shades reeking of electronic psychedelia and dripping with dark tendrils of moss covered reverberations of stagnant water.

It's the best description I can come up with!

i have listened to this five times now....and am still finding it hard to describe....first off....if i were to make a list of 2010 greats this would be near the top of it....i cannot wait to hear the other FOUR (according to RYM) album this band released this year....this is one of those albums that right at 0:32 of the first song i knew i loved it....this is one of those dark ambient works that i will listen to often....it's multi-layered, full of texture, and in no way boring or typical.....in all honesty Jackhammers word about are damn near perfect....the second track 'Eurydice' is mind blowing and may be a forerunner for greatest track released in 2010

whatever astral plane Aleister Crowley is on.....he is smiling :)

I honestly think that my musical taste isn't too expansive, so could someone send me something?
