I don't really like my last.fm though.

So it's not an accurate reflection of your taste, or you just don't like lastFM?

James 01-09-2011 01:18 PM

I'm sending everybody that posts in here the same album, it's so good and diverse that everyone will find something good about it.

The first one I suppose. I mean in a way it is, I just always feel like some things are really underrepresented.

3 piece post-hardcore/math rock/experimental/noise type outfit from the beautiful pacific northwest....this was their final album released in 2001....and i think by many is considered an essential classic....i would agree

enjoy

Labradford - A Stable Reference (1995)

Post-rock, ambient, cosmic, drone. I just have a hunch you might be able to appreciate it and enjoy it.

I'm about to start listening to the album you sent me. I'll write tomorrow about how it went.

Editors - An end has a start

IMHO still their best album so far. The first one was good, but a bit patchy. The new one is a brave attempt at breaking out from the Joy Division comparison (by channelling Depeche Mode!), but it left me mostly cold, so I can't really recommend it. This however, is pretty wonderful. Perfect music for rainy days, or for when you wish it was a rainy day.

to Unchained Ballad:

The Divine Comedy - Fin de siecle

Irish chamber pop. No, seriously...a masterpiece of witty, beautiful, cheery and melancholic classic English pop music.

to Alfred:

Cop Shoot Cop - Release

Think the intensity of Big Black, but with a sound that really bass heavy (when they started out, they had two bass and no guitars), a singer whose voice sounds like Leonard Cohen's after an all night fight in a sandpaper factory, and some of the best lyrics ever.
