"hey have you heard that Lil' Wayne song?"

"................................................. .................................................. ..............."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Can't stand listening to Of Montreal, they are a hipster version of the Beatles."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the midst of a conversation about P.O.S., MF DooM, and Awol One:

"yeah man I love rappers with really deep lyrics, like Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, and Lil' Wayne they really have a grip on life."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
talking to a metal-head:

"People who produce bull**** electronic stuff don't know anything about composing music. Buy me a computer with Abelton and I could be the next "dead-douche" (deadmau5) or whatever his name is."

Me: "Fer sherzzzzzz man" \m/
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"issac brock sucks"

eeehhhhhhh..... I wouldn't call Xiu Xiu avant-garde.

I don`t know why, but I thought this was the funniest conversation of all. I wish I`d said that, Bullet.

The only stupid statement I can think of is one that we`ve all heard :
" X is the best band/singer/guitarist in the world "

X were a really great band. Los Angeles is a classic album. Nothing wrong with that statement

Los Angeles is brilliant I agree. So are Wild Gift and Under The Big Black Sun. Their cover of Soul Kitchen is one of the best covers ever. Definetly a statement I'd agree with.

That's debatable. That's why I put "experimental/avant-garde."

I would. The only album I have by them is A Promise, so maybe their other stuff is more straight up indie rock or something, but that album is fairly avant-garde sounding to me.

I heard the X's Soul Kitchen cover long before I heard The Doors - I still prefer it to the original, too.
