Muse is actually pretty versatile compared to other bands.
They go from acoustic singer songwriter stuff to electronic to orchestral works.

I think it's hilarious when someone thinks that Limp Bizkit is avant-garde. The other day when I showed a friend a song from one of Xiu Xiu's albums he asked what kind of genre it was. I said that it's experimental/ avant-garde. He then said, "Oh, then I'm sure you'd like Limp Bizkit. They're really experimental."

Oh wait, if you asked the first question in like 2008 or whatever then that makes sense. But couldn't you consider Gwar to be metal? |

Even if he asked in in 2008 I don't see the problem. I own every Maiden album up to Brave New World (barring Virtual XI and the X Factor) and have two of their shirts which I wear pretty regularly. I haven't heard their last two albums and listen to GWAR.

Someone I know: You listen to all this music that no one cares about, I bet you are into conspiracy theories too?
Me: No I have a brain of my own that's why I listen to the music I do. Someone I know: X factor is classic entertainment, you are just being difficult for the sake of it. Me: No I am just not as green as you are cabbage looking. Someone I know: blank face. Someone I know: You like Iron Maiden but not Guns N Roses? Call yourself a Rock Fan? Me: I am resigning from the rock music club if all you can offer up is that tripe.

I have a band mate who listens to Staind, Job For a Cowboy, Tool, Lamb of God, Slipknot, Cradle of Filth, Linkin Park and KoRn and he trashes anything I listen to in my car and insists it's garbage and his music is "awesome." It makes me smile, but also want to drive my car in front of a train.
