Completely puzzled me.
I know a couple of people who don't care about music at all.
My parents for instance. They listen to the radio, even if it plays crap, it's just radio one (newsradio with some music).
And then they look to programmes like Idols, The Voice of Holland, you get my drift. And they try to convince me that it's really interesting and that they have really nice songs.
If there's one thing I hate about my parents (and there's not so much to hate about them) it's the fact that they don't give a **** about music. I just can't stand that...
I really can't understand how people live without music.

"Modern artists no longer write albums which are designed to be listened to from start to finish, this is a great shame, they simply write songs and put them together."

I know I stole this from a forum topic here, but still the stupidity of this statement boggles the mind.

Friend: "Emo is terrible."
Me: "I like Emo."
Friend: *Look of disgust*
Me: "What?"
Friend: "Emo is crap! My Chemical Romance and Fallout Boy etc. they're all rubbish."

This could be a positive story if you sat him down and explained things to him.

I've had that happen to me before. To some it's mind boggling that I like both Emo AND Black Metal, as if I NEED to be either a metal head, or Emo kid. You just can't do both. That defies cliques. And we just can't have that.

Yeah me too. I have pretty eclectic taste, but I can't like everything.

That reminds me, I was talking to someone and he said "wait.... you like.... Pink Floyd? I thought you liked.... metal?"

Exactley. You nailed it on the head

I wasn't exactley in my best state of mind when I was writing that. I wasn't stoned, but if anyone were anound me right then, they would've thought so. What I meant was that MJ's popularity in 2009 was caused most by his death, so I didn't count him as the biggest pop star in the nation. He was the biggest pop star in 1983 because he was making great music and exploring new boundaries. Thanks for getting me.
