....exactly the same here

i discovered The Vasalines through Nirvana and must admit that i still prefer Nirvana's take on "Son Of A Gun"

i discovered Unwound while shopping at a record store in San Francisco i saw a guy wearing a shirt that simply said "Ask Me About UNWOUND" so i did i bought "Fake Train" that day....it took about 30 seconds for me to fall madly in love with them....and three weeks later saw them live

i discovered Current 93 from a clerk at the local Hot Topic...he was wearing a shirt with the cover of Dogs Blood Rising on it...we chatted about them for a moment and he made me a tape with Swastikas For Noddy on it....

i discovered Death In June from that tape....Douglas P sings the song "Hello Angel"

i discovered Unsane from a poster that was hanging in the local independent record store....the second i saw the bath house covered in gallons of blood with just the word "UNSANE" i had to hear what kind of music it could be

I find this quite funny, because I discovered Minor Threat through Fugazi.

Haha, I can totally relate. I first became interested in Unsane because of this album cover:

i could see that...i think the first time i heard Minor Threat was in late 91 or early 92....a class mate let me borrow the complete discography because i was listening to Crass and he wanted to show me what "real" punk was....i didn't really get into Fugazi till years later

Oh boy, you've no idea how jealous I am that you saw Unwound. Cool way to find out about them too, I just saw them described as "sonic youth meets fugazi" on some website and started downloading their albums! How were they live, btw?

Now that I think about it, Nirvana got me into the Jesus Lizard. I'm pretty grateful for that.

I got into Crystal Castles because my friend wouldn't stop talking about how much she hated them and how angry she was that she paid $20 for Crystal Castles 2 on CD. Eventually I paid her $10 for it to shut her up and now I love them.

they were tight...just amazingly good musicians....it was their last tour so a nice retrospective of their discography...my only complaint (and to be honest this is in hindsight) was the size of the venue...although not huge...it was quite large....i just have seen pictures and youtube videos of their earlier more aggressive shows....and they look like a riot

I got into The Smashing Pumpkins because some girl i fancied had their name graffitied on her school bag, and i'd already heard 'Today' and 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings' and liked them. Over time they became my favourite band
