Cool

Think Prince/genius but have to go with Sinead O'Connor's version on this one:
(So sad, both RIP)

Sinead is still alive?

Prince's version is better.

Maybe Karen was implying her career is dead. You know, for doing that unspeakable heinous act of ripping up a picture of an assh*le on a live TV show.

Hi. Sorry about any confusion on Sinead O'Connor. I'd written under both Prince and Sinead O'Connor (RIP). I'd thought that was a well-understood term - it's respectful, "rest in peace" (they've excited this life).

Whenever I write on anyone who's passed away, (so long as I remember to add it) I'll put (RIP) as I'll add here, too...since I've been binging on Chris Cornell (RIP) lately - and, am always freshly blown away by that voice!

(Great choice of Patti Smith doing When Doves Cry; but I'll stick w/Price on that one)

I'd never heard her version before, but it's pretty damned good. Took a couple listens to grow on me, but now it's wormed its way into a bunch of my playlists. Good call!

I adore Debbie Harry, so I have a high bar for Blondie covers.

Imo, it just works better as a punk song.

Of course - you're right!! Thank you.
