The Orgy remake ... it's not bad. I remember hearing it in middle school and thinking it was pretty cool, but in hindsight, it's ... okay. Still probably don't enjoy it more than the original, though.

What??? **** that. Orgy's cover is horrible. New Order's original is perfect.
but speaking of which, does this count? after all, Joy Division originally did it, technically. |

New Orders original was ok...admittedly for its time it is quite unique but I just prefer the cover version of it if put side by side. Just has a bit more oomph.
Lillasysters cover of Umbrella. Again, a bit more oomph. |

Are you fucking kidding me? Blue Monday is a timeless classic, the cover doesn't even update it in an awesome way, simply because it is a flawless song. It doesn't need more "oomph", and in my opinion it only takes away from the greatness of this song. For it's time? Orgy's version is dated with the taint of the era of rap-rock wankery, the original is the best example of perfectly done synth without coming off as cheesy and horrid as most synth based songs do. Have some respect.

I'm gonna go out and say that both of these covers are better than Bruce Springsteen's original.
