The Black Keys - Brothers Titus Andronicus - The Monitor Girl Talk - All Day The National - High Violet Gorillaz - Plastic Beach Didn't really get much new hip-hop or rap this year, but I'm sure Kanye will rank decently when I finally get around to listening to it. Admittedly I didn't listen to much across the board.

My list shares a lot in common with a few (TheCunningStunt for example):
1. Arcade Fire - Suburbs 2. The National - High Violet 3. Sun Kil Moon - Admiral Fell Promises 4. Junip - Fields 5. How to Dress Well - Love Remains 6. The Tallest Man on Earth - The Wild Hunt 7. Sufjan Stevens - Age of Adz 8. Black Keys - Brothers 9. Perfume Genius - Learning 10. Sleigh Bells - Treats Suburbs was amazing the first time I listened to it, and it continues to be. Neither a grower nor a fader. I listened to High Violet damn near constantly for a month when it came out. Admiral continues to be one of my favourite study/work albums. I can already tell James Blake will be in and likely near the top of my 2011 list. |

A lot of albums here seem really interesting, and last year was indeed an epic year, I still have tons to listen through. I didn't read through the entire thread but I was suprised that I didn't see any mention of Kisses self-titled debut album which I thought was a pretty good release - maybe not a top 10, but still. Also Breathe Owl Breathe released Magic Central, quite the charming album with a soothing acoustic sound.
