I guarantee that everyone here would love it. I'm actually surprised it isn't ending up on more top 2010 lists! :O

This is my album of the year. Mainly because its the only one I've picked up this year that entranced me enough to put it on its own playlist and listen to it on repeat.

I didn't get much new this year, but I thought these two were worth a mention:

Tobacco - Maniac Meat
I happen to be fond of dirty, gritty beats but I'm sure it's not an album for everyone.

And probably my most favorite (and most played) release this year...

The Bamboos - 4
It's funky, and soulful, and features a track with Lyrics Born -- all good things in my book.

how about the best EPs of the year?

Alexisonfire "Dog's Blood"
You're probably taking notice of the extremely over-the-top artwork... I personally love the artwork. It suits the dark, almost horror punk feel of this album. Anyways, the music... it's outstanding. I've had gripes with the past two albums from Alexisonfire, I've found them to be good but a bit too polished. Their debut remains my favorite due to its raw, heavy, emotive hardcore sound. This EP brings back the hardcore edge that I've been missing from AOF and the title track is, in my opinion, nothing short of perfect.

United Nations "Never Mind The Bombings, Here's Your Six Figures"

I absolutely loved United Nations' debut album from 2008 and I was really stoked about this EP. Fortunately, they didn't let me down. The songs here are all better than the majority of the songs on the full-length. The sound is very much the same, but while the album was more spastic and the songs were shorter, this EP has longer songs with more of a focus on instrumental melody.

Ok, I guess I'll make that list now:

1. Cee Lo - The Lady Killer (THE most infectious album that came out this year)
2. Caribou - Swim
3. Tame Impala - Innerspeaker
4. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
5. Beach house - Teen Dream
6. Sleigh Bells - Treats
7. Robyn - Body Talk
8. Hot Chip - One Life Stand
9. Band of Horses - Infinite arms

Ugh...I guess I can't even think of a top 10...:/

I'd love to say The Suburbs by Arcade Fire only because I'm a huge fan....but Teen Dream is amazing.
