musicians! whose in a local band...?
I'm just a tad bored listening to people talk about all they bands they like and don't like, I'm actually a little interested in who actually creates their own music. Is anyone in that 'local band' stage? yeah you guys know what I'm talkin about

well my story is that I got started on piano when I was really young, played for like 7 years and had an awsome teacher but she stopped teaching so I stopped taking right as I was getting into the stage where I could fake (improvising songs when given just the chords of that particular song, for those of you who don't know). after that I took some time off and started playing guitar, all self taught, and I've been at that for a year and a half. I feel like I have picked it up at an alright pace because of my piano background and I have been in a band for like 8ish months--which I am the lead singer of. We have 6 original songs and we are preparing to cover "pain" by Jimmy Eat World just as a crowd pleaser (not that they don't like our originals of course hehe.... hopefully). But hey, the only problem is there are two guitars in "pain" and we only have me, so we are going to try it without the second guitar and see how it sounds.

I have love for you even though you are a little ignorant of some other crap in the music industry...but good for you...I've been playing guitar for quite some time now and all of my friends are pretty much in local bands..but I haven't formed one yet..I play a lot of guitar with a couple of my friends but we have no drummer!! so Idk, maybe one day.

sounds like a plan, dude. in my band it was originally me AND this other chick singing but when we played live for our first time, everyone said she sucked. plus me and the guys kind of wanted to be a 3 peice anyway, so we found a nice way to remove her.

well I was going to start something else with her that I thought she would like more. It woul be sort of an accoustic deal, me on accoustic guitar and her on piano and we had this kid who wanted to do some soft rock drums for us..... but then it turned out she is moving in a couple months anyway so that kind of got screwed. So now we just practice without her, but it sucks cause she is dissapointed that she isnt playing with us anymore. We still might do the accoustic thing though.
