He's an amazing composer... not the best way to start a thread about him, though. Plus, as somebody who grew up on Square games as a child, I cannot say he's the best composer of all time.

Now, with that said, I find it amazing that as a videogame composer, apparently his soundtracks have outsold Madonna, and Michael Jackson in Japan, or equalled sales of which, I forget which...

Christ, when they're not simulating incestuous hermaphrodite demon beast child sex with animation, Japan is ****ing awesome.

Anyway, damn good composer:



Except for the organ solo it's absolutely perfect.

Nobuo started playing the piano at the age of 12 and has never been formerly taught.
but he is now composing excellent music.I never forget him in my life.I am collecting his songs

The Final Fantasy soundtracks he's been responsible for down the years are sublime, particularly the one for VII - it's a great show of how richly textured and layered entirely-synthesized music can be. By the looks of it, he hasn't got many fans here. Pity.

As somebody who grew up in the 90s, and didn't get that into what was going on in mainstream rock(I mean, I did a little, especially later, but not that much), his music was so refreshing.
