It's a poppy take on some '70's Avante Garde...maybe Henry Cow? Maybe Van Der Graaf Generator? It's not but a stone throw from 'some' of the things Rundgren has done in the last decade.

Here you go...

Thanks for the review of The Tangent tune, Randy. They're from Britain and considered prog, although leader/keyboard player Andy Tillison has a lot of influences. Another band that's been around for over 20 years that I found out about relatively recently.

The Dangereens tune is very 70s influenced. It brings to mind the Orleans' hit single Still The One, but with more rock and roll swagger.

The following song is by my favorite solo artist, Johnny Dowd, who frequently gets tagged as "alt country" or "Americana." I don't think those terms apply to this tune, but I’ll leave it the review to the reviewer.

After one listen all I can do is think of who I'm reminded of. First impressions can be dangerous!

Artists that come to mind; Jonathon Richman and Amigo The Devil with a splash of coffee shop jazz. Thanks for sharing!

Here is a new band composed of veteran Detroit punkers, The Boreouts. I saw them live earlier this year and they made a good impression.
