2/10.
I don't know what it is that people here like about Kanye West. In any other place I would understand, but here? This is just the same as any other R&B/Hiphop out there, for me. Not my style, but even if I try very hard I don't see what's the point of Kanye. Sorry And now for something completely different:

and yeah, you can say that there's a large amount of this style present, but Kanye was one of the first in terms of mainstream hip hop to do this, so that may be where some of the appreciation may come from. that and his use of sampling and abilities as a producer. oh yeah, and the next poster can skip this post seeing as there's no song posted anyway, hehe.

All I can think is "this is sooo Euro" haha. It was okay though, I guess. Not catchy enough to sustain the repetitiveness, but not bad.
4/10 Aside: I think Sleigh Bell's Treats wins the award for Most Times Appeared in this Thread with three songs from the album posted...

I'm not really a fan of Flobots, I kind of liked Handlebars when it first came out...but this is just not my sound. 3/10
One of my favorite, if not my favorite Christmas song of all time, Merry Christmas MB!

I find this quite offensive actually, a lot of people on this forum love Kanye, including me. I don't think it's fair to judge status as music lovers just because we like an artist you don't. Seems quite elitist to me.

I mean I just don't hear the difference between Kanye and the other R&B/Hip-hop 'crap' that's on the radio nowadays.
I don't like the style anyway, I'm just trying to understand what's different about Kanye, as I don't hear it. Hoped someone could explain it to me. And that happened. So please move on .

Well the "crap" might be crap to YOUR ears, but it might be considered great music by another person.
Haven't you ever heard the expression: "One man's junk is another man's treasure"? It can apply here too. I could say the things you like are complete crap, but there is something that you obviously like about them that I don't hear. It's kind of ignorant that you would generalize all the Other R&B/Hip Hop crap, when you most likely haven't heard all of it. If that Music you call crap was indeed crap, it wouldn't be popular today now would it? If you really want to hear the difference, use something called your ears. |
