^^Great song, I love it. Just when I think I know how it's gonna develop, it surprises me. I haven't heard this Unwound album, I should probably.

Butthole Surfers - Kuntz :D

Great song. I definitely hear some good black metal influences and Crust Punk, as well. That's the kind of sludge that I absolutely adore.

Charlemagne 10-25-2010 01:13 AM

Pretty ok, I'm not a huge fan of that style of music, but I've been getting into stuff similar to that lately, I just haven't really gotten used to it.

I'm such a hipster for liking this song! :D

In a sense it reminds me of Beach House, which I've heard one album from and I don't really get the hype. I don't see why I would like this any more than that, perhaps because I haven't heard of Warpaint and therefore haven't heard any hype that could make me say "whatever". Listening to it again. Yeah I like it alright, but maybe it's not something I'll bother investigating after all. I think it's a little more straight-forward and less pretentious than Beach House? Lol I might get shit for calling Beach House pretentious. It has more energy too, it's not so restrained.

Airliner - "Clockwork Creep"

The sound's a little messed up in this video, it's drowning out the vocals quite a bit.

Just some The Knifes, Fever Ray if they can be considered anything like this and also some hip hop remix stuff. Oh yeah! I almost forgot Caribous new album.

Nice that you enjoyed it. I actually consider Rubiks Artturi Tairas vocals really enjoyable. Rubik is one of the few great bands from my home country.

Yeah I suppose The Knife can be considered similar (haven't listened to Fever Ray yet). Haven't heard much Caribou yet though. I listen to a ton of electronic and instrumental hip-hop, so I know some other things along these lines, just curious if you had any specific recos based on the track.

Really not a fan of the video, for some reason I can tolerate violent/gory videogames but movies just make me queasy. The song was quite enjoyable, though. 7.5/10

bob. 10-26-2010 03:41 PM

folkslave/sidewinder....
i think maybe 'annoyed' was a bit strong...i just felt his inflection was weird...but yeah...actually i really liked the last two songs quite a bit and am looking for the albums now

rvca...
actually yeah the video is straight from a movie called Dead Alive.....and although it works kind of well with the song....i could think of better representations

Haha it's classical music what am I supposed to say? I think there are two instruments--is it two pianos or a piano and some sort of stringed instrument? Yawn.
At least I reviewed it, albeit poorly.

I'm typing my experience with the song as I listen:

Definitely started off with a nice uptempo kick, and I'm in an uptempo mood, so that's already one point in its favor. The vocals begin, and I'm not completely sold, but it's not the worst vocal performance I've ever heard or anything. I notice that the applause emoticon on my reply screen appears to be clapping to the rhythm of the song, and that makes me smile. There's nothing extraordinary happening during the song, but it's still enjoyable and easy to listen to. I'm digging that. Nice guitar riffing, and it's...it's done? I feel a little cheated. It didn't really go anywhere. But it was enjoyable to listen to for the most part...hmm.

The Phish fan wanted the song to last longer!?!? Unpossible! :p:

snagglepuss 10-26-2010 10:27 PM

^^
^^

I'm sorry, but I couldn't even get half way through that one.

Violent & Funky 10-26-2010 10:28 PM

You couldn't get halfway through a 2:30 long song so you pick... a song that is 8:24 long?

He didn't like Song A so he posted Song B that he does like, how does the length matter

Violent & Funky 10-27-2010 01:45 PM

Because the selfish prick couldn't listen to a 2:30 long song and review it and then has the balls to post a song that is far too long for a thread like this...

Queen Boo 10-27-2010 01:58 PM

Loved it. Short and sweet, loved his voice, it was pretty odd. I dig the stand-out consistent strumming throughout as well.

Oh you cheat, you know that song is getting a 10/10!

Hahaha I was kind of banking on someone who wasn't a Dinosaur fan to listen, but n'aymind. :D

Violent & Funky 10-27-2010 02:29 PM

Nah, I'm gonna let somebody else blast that riff out of their speakers...

downwardspiral 10-27-2010 02:29 PM

It's ****ing dreamy. Can't beat it.

I am so stoked to be seeing Dinosaur again. It's not til July though :( :( :(

Minimal Compact was a great band, maybe a bit forgotten, kinda like Tuxedomoon :( There are similarities in sound, but where Tuxedomoon is more on the avant-garde or neoclassical side, Minimal Compact is more straightforward post-punk with a lot of the dark wave atmosphere (well, not in this song). They were both a part of that European scene based in Brussels, although Minimal Compact came from Israel.
