LOL what's up with that song?

i feel my car just broke down lol

2/10

The video was coolies, but the song was kind of just all right to me. Didn't really elicit any particular response in me, aside from, "This is pretty upbeat."

I'd totally jam it before a party, but I'd not listen to it as an especial work of interest.

5/10.

Shining Wizado - The Show Must Go On

I guess that folks who like pro wrestling would be hit by this moreso than folks who don't, but I can't listen to this song without tears at least for the third verse for Chris Benoit.

That wasn't too bad actually. My enjoyment of the song went from a 4/10 to a 7/10 as a the song went on. Sometimes I think my brain is trying to trick me into liking music.

Franco Pepe Kalle 02-12-2013 01:36 PM

good song 9/10

James 02-12-2013 03:47 PM

What an insightful review, I can really tell what you liked about the song.
Anyway. I didn't really like that song. The guys voice is so grating, it's like he's not really trying but not in an endearing way, in an annoying way. The song is eight minutes long and it doesn't really seem to go anywhere, it just kind of bored me. But it's not my genre and I did like the positive tone of the song, quite happy and catchy. 4/10

One of my favorite Femmes songs. I love the whiney drone of his voice and the jangly guitar sound that they always achieved with great success. From one 80s act to another.

TMBG is a great act but only appeals to certain types and yes i'm a nerd.

Frownland 02-12-2013 04:04 PM

It appeals to me at points, it's decent. They're songs tend to drag on a bit for me. 6/10

Goofle 02-12-2013 06:23 PM

@ Frown - I love music like that when I am in the right mood but I just want something east and digestable right now. Love the last minute a lot though. 7.5/10

Black Francis 02-12-2013 09:12 PM

Nice beat, sounds good but nothing extraordinary 7/10

Electrophonic Tonic 02-12-2013 09:12 PM

Reminded me of the Roots with that jazzy groove it had going on. I can dig it. 8/10

Not really my thing. I kinda liked the beginning, but the ending got a bit noisy. 5/10

I give you Colette.

Plankton 02-13-2013 11:24 AM

Not too bad. A bit poppy for my tastes though.

5/10

Santana - Blues For Salvador - 01 - Bailando Aquatic Park - YouTube

Best part is after 3:30

Frownland 02-14-2013 12:47 PM

That one was pretty good. Santana can be pretty hit and miss for me, but this time it was a definite hit. 8/10

So Low - Ocean Colour Scene - YouTube

Black Francis 02-14-2013 08:06 PM

Not bad, the song was pretty standard what i really liked was the sliding guitar 7/10

Kelli 02-14-2013 11:36 PM

Pretty good. Wasn't sure where the song was going at first but I like the free-form style to it, and the drummer seemed particularly good. They were rockin'. Interesting song title too....haha. 7/10

Here's mine:

PEACE - California Daze - YouTube

Insane Guest 02-15-2013 12:13 PM

Pretty good, but would have been so much better if there was only the main vocal track 7/10.

Enjoyed it quite a lot! 8/10 Wasn't expecting it to sound like that.

Very pleasant and soothing, but it's a bit bland imo. 6/10

Really nice 9/10

Black Francis 02-16-2013 08:17 PM

Sounded good, i didn't like the lyrics, cause it's basically one big F*ck you but music wise it was tight..

sounded like punk and then metal. 7/10

I love Pixies. You can probably tell by my username. 10/10

misspoptart 02-18-2013 07:45 AM

Not my thing, Mr. Grieves. I appreciate the storyline going on there, and I think the vocalist is gifted, but it makes me depressed. A Tom Waits thing going on, all the same. 5/10

Let's shake it up a bit with Iranian-Swede satirist Sean Banan.

:) :)

bob. 02-18-2013 10:46 AM

it seems to me that the "Iranian-Swede" take on American pop music sounds....well just as dross as American pop music....its a shame that there are absolutely no cultural influences there....still i suppose for what it is....it's not horrible....just stagnant pop music.....3/10

Whores.

Isbjørn 02-18-2013 11:16 AM

Sounds pretty cool, and that riff is going to be stuck in my head for days. 8/10

Black Francis 02-18-2013 02:24 PM

Not bad, it was good but they dragged the intro too long for my taste

6/10

Causeway Bay 02-18-2013 07:00 PM

Uhhhhhhh...I know it's supposed to sound demented. This song...yeah, I dunno...if the video wasn't entertaining, I would've stopped the song before letting it finish. 3/10 The instrumentals were alright though, but overall, the song just rubs me the wrong way.

Rjinn 02-18-2013 09:31 PM

Wow, that was hectic. I thoroughly enjoyed that. Berserk, ambient, morbid, somewhat frightening, and dramatic. Definitely sounded cinematic. Great multi-layering. 9/10

Frownland 02-18-2013 09:36 PM

Einsturzende Neubauten was one the first industrial bands that I got into, they are badass. This song is of no exception. 10/10.

Isbjørn 02-19-2013 09:47 AM

I guess it was ok. I kind of expected a chorus or some kind of highlight, but it didn't come. 5/10

bob. 02-19-2013 12:04 PM

great song from possibly the best era of Revelation Records....although in my personal opinion US Songs is a much stronger album and concentrates more on post hardcore is a little bit less melodic.....i highly suggest checking out more Revelation bands from that time specifically Kill Holiday, Garrison, Farside and of course Texas Is The Reason....either way a very strong track from a great album 9/10

Plankton 02-19-2013 12:23 PM

Liked that that one a bunch! Killer bass line leading the way. My kind of music. I've never heard of em but I'm on the hunt now. S'why I come here... besides the beer. 9/10

Snot - Snooze button (with lyrics) - YouTube

Cuthbert 02-19-2013 12:28 PM

Interesting band name.

Sounded alright, verses were pretty good, didn't like the hook. Too heavy for my tastes. I could imagine listening to this song while on the way to punch somebody though so maybe it served it's purpose? 5/10

Wiley - Wot Do U Call It - YouTube

Sparky 02-19-2013 01:09 PM

7.5/10

i like it, the more abrasive the better i say

Black Francis 02-19-2013 07:30 PM

i usually don't like those type of songs but that one i found very relaxing..

i liked the pulse of the bass 8/10
