The Birds Are Spies, They Report to the Trees rule, and I don't have this song, but I'm definitely going to pick this up now. Great beginning and great when the vocals come in too. 9/10

^ Didn't like it that much. The vocals reminded me a little of Bathory.

10/10....what a beautiful song....i love her voice...and perfect for this time of year (we are about to get up to 2 feet (61 cm) of snow between today and tomorrow)....very much reminded me of fellow Mi and L'au who i believe are also from Finland (or at least Mi is)...i think i need to look into this artist....

Anyway, not a bad track but I don't really have a desire to play it again or check out the album it's from. 6/10

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

to be honest this is a new direction for Death In June and nothing from the rest of their catalogue sound like the new album.....their early stuff has a more post punk/experimental/gothic industrial feel...and the majority of their stuff is more simplistic folk music.....as a fan of them i'm still digesting the new album....it's quite a change

Ah, Blonde Redhead. I usually love them, but I haven't heard this album, or this song before. I didn't know what to make of it, didn't do much for me right away. So I listened to it two more times and I must say that it's possibly a grower. Nice, warm melody that sometimes drags a bit. I would've liked it more if it were more direct. 6,5/10

I'm playing this again now. I could see myself thinking it drags if it were my first time hearing it. However, I think it works really well in the context of the album, It's kind of a break between two more aggressive songs I think. This is why I love albums - context can bring out the best in a song. To me it stands out as one of the best on the album despite its slow pace that might otherwise turn me off.

Yeah, you're absolutely right, the context of the album is very important and that's how I usually listen to songs. Like I said, I can see this song as a grower and I believe you that it works better as a part of the album. Maybe I should check out the whole thing.
