Well it had vocals, or at least significant vocals, meaningful lyrics, and more interesting instrumentation and harmonies. Also instrumentals just aren't my thing. Sorry

I really liked that song bob, I liked how it progressively built up to that great ending and I liked how the vocalist still had power at the end without resorting to screaming. I think I'll check them out. 8.5/10

I liked it a lot. Multi-layered. Sad. 9/10

That is pretty good. The beginning of the actual song reminds me of Misfits' "Skulls". And the beginning of the sample reminds me of one used by Skinny Puppy in "Stairs and Flowers" - "what do you mean what happened, I just slipped down these damn stairs".

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Woo, you guys liked it.

I've always sort of hated that sample. Its so random.
"DURRRH, I'M ABRAHAM LINCOLN."
Shut up.

It's the sample before the Abraham Lincoln one that I'm talking about ("Where the hell are you? Get up"). The rest is a bit dumb, yeah.

What album would you recommend by these guys? I just checked out clips for Tut Tut Now Shake Ya Butt, where this song appears. I'm not sure it would have appealed to me had I not heard this song in its entirety.

Weird, I only have Tut Tut too. I'll check out other Japanther stuff and get back to you. I think Violent & Funky is a diehard though so ask him.

I posted that cover before in this thread! I do like Tut Tut (although those 9+ minute story things get on my nerves) and I do want to check out their other stuff,

@bob: Not really my style, the vocals kind of irritated me and it has this really acid/trippy feel that I don't really know if I like or not. I'll go 5.5/10

^ Not really my cup of tea but it wasn't that bad. I just didn't enjoy it that much 5/10

Hmm, reminds me of Nick Cave. I do think it's a tad boring and I don't like the vocals. 5/10
