Forenote to the mods - i know i seem to have a streak of posting topics that are already covered, but I USED THE SEARCH FUNCTION THIS TIME, and couldnt find another Bruno Mars thread.

Anyway, I just heard Bruno's new single this morning, i love it. I also really liked his collaboration w/ B.o.B. for Nothin on You, the collaboration w/ Travie McCoy for Billionaire wasnt too bad either.

Thoughts?

I hate the song "Billionare" but he cowrote Cee Lo Green's "**** You!" so he's definitely cool with me.

I think he's completly terrible. Like a grown up version of Beiber.

He hasn't done anything to impress me yet. So far his work has been incredibly generic. Just look at his lyrics for the two hit singles he's guested on.

"Beautiful girls / All over the world / I could be chasin' / But my time I'd be wastin' / they got nothin' on you girl".

"I wanna be a billionaire so fricking bad / Buy all of the things I never had
I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine / Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen"

Wow. That's deep, man.

I actually found his hook to be the worst part of that B.o.B. song (and if you want my opinion, B.o.B. himself did an awful job on that one. Not that he's always awful or anything, but I swear it sounded like an ameteur reading bad poetry straight off the paper). So yeah... thus far the only thing he's done is make me cringe. I'd hate to write him off completely, though. Seems he's a pretty decent producer and if he'd tone down the more annoying aspects of his voice, a fine singer.

He has a pleasant voice, but the songs are pretty replaceable.

I think they're catchy songs nonetheless. I mean... the new song he has out makes girls everywhere swoon.
There's nothing wrong with Bieber either.
I can appreciate catchy pop.

On a side note, Bruno Mars was arrested for something to do with drugs.
