Default Coulda' Been a Hit

Shuffling the Ipod today I came across a John Fogerty song called Walking in a Hurricane off of his Blue Moon Swamp album and every time I hear that song I think the same thought: Why wasn't this a hit?

It has a catchy chorus, some nice guitar, sung well, but it got no traction on the charts at all. The factors that prevented it from being a hit are pretty obvious, new songs by classic artists aren't often hits, rock wasn't that big at the time the song was released, Fogerty wasn't ever as famous as CCR, but the song itself sounds like a hit to me.

Anybody else ever hear a song and think it should have been a hit and wonder why it wasn't? Any examples?

Misses are always better than hits.

"Seven" by Sunny Day Real Estate in particular should've been a hit.

But I agree with jackhammer. Misses > Hits!

I gotta agree with both of ^ those guys. Misses are great. Off the top of my head
Louisiana Rain by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers wasn't a hit but its probably my favorite song off Damn The Torpedoes, which has a lot of "Hits".
