This is the exact thing I was about to post. I find it incredibly ironic that a band as interesting and creative as Mr. Bungle could have inspired so many crappy, uninteresting bands only interested in mimicking one tiny facet of their sound.

Another band with the same problem, and who was a big influence on mostly the same group of bands as Bungle, is Primus.

Of that lot Nirvana, mainly for the flock of rip-offs that flooded 90's and early 00's rock radio.Although the following are equally to blame for inspiring crap bands.

Husker Du
The Strokes/The Libertines

Massive Attack

Honestly, I can't see this. There really isn't a whole lot of funk/soul inspired pop music, and certainly it isn't delivered the way he delivered.

Nirvana for sure, followed closely by Radiohead. I think Pantera should be on the poll though.

Indeed, Faith No More inspired alot of Nu Metal bands, which is a very hated genre.

Two bands that spring to my mind are Pearl Jam and The Libertines.
I like Pearl Jam but i'm not that big a fan of them either, they do have some great songs in their catalog, but i do hold them mostly responsible for that god-awful and terrible musical style we know as 'post-grunge'. So take a bow Creed/Alterbridge, Seether, Nickelback, Puddle Of Mudd, etc.

I was never a big fan of The Libertines but i do hold them responsible for paving the way for bands like The Enemy, Scouting For Girls, The Kooks and the like.
