Fat Wreck Chords
Epitaph Hellcat I know there's at least one or two more but I can't think of them at the moment. |
I gotta go with... in no order
Plan-It-X: Sadly it's going defunct next summer, but it has worked with a ton of great bands on it (Ghost Mice, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Defiance, Ohio, Heathers, Madeline Ava, Matty Pop Chart, Rosa etc...) And Chris Clavin has a great story. No Idea: Has released/is releasing some of my favorite punk right now...(Defiance, Ohio, This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb, Jawbreaker) Beggars Banquet- Because it funds one of my next favorite labels... 4AD- Awesome label with some of my favorite American bands on its current roster (The National, The Mountain Goats, St. Vincent, Camera Obscura) There will be more later. |
Yep I'm with you Charlemagne, I was about to be pissed no one mentioned Plan-It-X or No Idea. Kranky, anticon., and Stones Throw I think were all mentioned before but they're all good.
But shame musicbanter! No one mentioned Ghostly, definitely a favorite of mine. And Blue Note probably has the most consistently amazing catalog of any label that has ever existed. |

Homestead is not mentioned, New York noise of the 80s: Sonic Youth, Swans, Live Skull etc.

I wouldn't even supply a link to the original thread... The only way they'll learn is by having to actually do it the right way. :) |
