Hellcat has some amazing artists, but they're really just a subsidiary of Epitaph, and Brad Gurewitz has more control over it than Armstrong does.

I second both Flying Nun and Rough Trade.

Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros is the only Hellcat band I'm really big on, and they're defunct.

The majority of the best bands on Hellcat are either defunct or have moved to different labels. The Aggrolites and The Slackers are the only two still active on the label that I like.

No, I was just saying that Tim Armstrong was punk's biggest douche. I love JSATM, I also loved the Distillers (although the last album wasn't Hellcat), too bad they're both defunct.

Flying Nun and SST were great. But I'm highly surprised no-one has mentioned Aaron Turner's Hydra Head Records.

Currently they have Boris, Dälek, ISIS, Jesu, Kayo Dot, Khanate, Merzbow and Old Man Gloom. They used to have Botch, Converge, Cult of Luna, Neurosis, Pelican and Sunn O)))

Wow, I like basically every band on here. But I have to admit, I don't pay that much attention to labels.

Wow, I missed that then. That's an incredible lineup.
