Nobody mentioned Chicago's Drag City. Some great music there from the end of the 80s and beginning of the 90s onwards: Royal Trux, Gastr del Sol, Jim O'Rourke, David Grubbs, Will Oldham/Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Silver Jews, U.S. Maple, Smog, Six Organs of Admittance, The Red Krayola etc.

No, NOFX is terrible, Fat Mike is a complete twat, especially with his PUNXZZZ AGAINST BUSH thing, like really? Had I been old enough at the time, I would have voted for him just out of sheer annoyance.

Either way, I love Rough Trade and Cherry Red

MY guess John Lydon.

i was thinking Sid Vicious....

Sansa Stark 08-08-2010 10:04 AM

Meh, PiL's pretty good, Sid Vicious was a twat but at least he's dead, Tim Armstrong is still being an obnoxious wanker

bob. 08-08-2010 10:07 AM

i agree 100%

as for labels...i like most of the stuff Mute puts out....every record put out on Amphetamine Reptile is an absolute gem...and i second Touch and Go....an amazing and versatile label

Sansa Stark 08-08-2010 10:11 AM

Oh, and I nearly forgot Crass Records

herp derp
