Also, since you like the Strokes, what is your opinion on Elephant vs. Is This It?
GBMS I always thought a very average album and well below the quality of "White Blood Cells" and "Elephant". For a long period I always thought the White Stripes superior to the Strokes largely because I`m a sucker for that blues based sound in general. Over the last couple of years though, I think the Strokes are the superior band and I`d take "Is This It" over any White Stripes album.

I think that album was more of an album to just feel than appreciate for its vocals, riffs and lyrics. I particularly liked Blue Orchid but I guess that's why it was single material.

I love this song even though Jack White regretted it:

The videos good too.

Let me begin by stating that I love metal! It's one of my favorite genres. My favorite band is Metallica. I also love Motorhead. But I also really like this band, too. What a shocker!

How do you know that what you think is real is really real? It could be faked. How would you even find out if you are wrong? Suppose the singer said that they experienced it and you get behind him 100% and then they came out and said that they lied? I mean, isn't that what a lot of music is, like a play?

My fave is "Elephant". It's also the 1st one I listened to. I think that without lyrics "Hardest Button to Button" would be a lot better, or maybe with better lyrics. Does anyone think that the feel to it is kinda Judas Priest like? I don't know, maybe they took the rhythm from a Priest song?

I kind of listened the "Get Behind me Satan" and I liked what I heard. I liked "Ichy Thump" too, but as to what that even means...?

Too bad they broke up. I think that Metallica should stop, too, though. Well, maybe not stop, but go back to what they started doing in the early '90s, they clearly can't handle thrash metal any longer, not with Hetfield's voice.

i haven't seen them live, i think that seven nation army was probably thier best though. It has a good catchy riff. The others however loose my interest quickly

I'm blown away by their first album every time I listen to it. It's just too good.

Agreed! It's my favorite album from them by FAR. In second would probably be De Stijl.

They're one of the best bands to come out in a while. Sure, Meg sucks, jack isn't the most technical, but I love his style and songwriting. I love their style of music. Ive seen The Dead Weather live and it was amazing. Jack blew me away when he got off the drums and did some guitar soloing.

Why are people giving Meg such a hard time? The drums are supposed to be simple and minimalistic, it's an integral part of their sound.
