I know they're simplified, and I know they chose to have no bassist, but I don't think it was a good choice at all. Plus, I am aware that meg white didn't start out as a drummer, but it still doesn't change the fact that she's not all that talented. No matter what, there's something missing in their sound without a bass, and meg's drumming definitely leaves something to be desired. It doesn't matter why they're not great, just the fact that they AREN'T is all that matters. that's my opinion anyways.

I like them accutally, the new album is kind of okey,. I like hardest button to button, Seven nation Army, In the cold, cold night and the black math. But their music is kind of wierd som times, and in their worst times they really suck....

When Seven Nation Army was at it's top, everyone at school was singing it so I thought I'd buy the cd. Yeah, I liked some of the songs, those that are maybe a little harder but the soft songs were just boring and helped me fall asleep at night.
I never played drums, but I'm sure I could play better the drums than Meg can. She should take lessons to help the band, imo. Jack is alright, he can play guitar, but surely isn't the greatest, seeing as my friend can play his stuff even better. The simplicity of their music is alright, but I guess it can be boring. Those that say they don't have a bassist, that's true, but I heard that when they recorded their albums, they did use more instruments than those used during concerts, like the bass. They said it was harder playing live because they couldn't use other instruments and it can't sound as good. They have a second guitarist, I do believe, for some of the songs, but when they play live, it's only them two.
To all those that say they suck, have you gotten as far as they did? I think not..

There is bass on the first two albums, and also on the last one. It was only an experiment on White Blood Cells that they didn't use any bass at all, and people picked up on it, and the fact that they don't use a bass player live. Hell, there's electric violins on the albums that they don't use live either.

Great band.

I like "dead leaves"..and agree with all who say the drummer isnt the best in the buisness, (i dont think they were attempting to go for a "tommy lee" type of drum section), but all in all i think theyve created some good rythems together.
