Jack White has a number 3 fixation.
I thought everyone knew that.

Icky Thump, far surpassed my expectations, after their last album, didn't sound as heart felt, as previous entree's into the bluesy rock.

Very, considering he once claimed the band was centred around the number 3.
I can't back this up, but I'm sure I once heard that he regarded the music itself, as the 3rd band member.

Anyway, I'm sure it's intended to be a 3 and not a heart...he doesn't close the shape, but instead leaves a gap.
Weirdo.

I'm sorry, but I can't stand the White Stripes. I will agree that they are simplistic and some people love that but in my case, it's just annoying. In my eyes, it's just pointless and boring. Basically, I can play the drumset on an amateur level and I really do think I could do a better job than Meg. I just think they really got lucky with getting famous in the sense that most bands aren't 'simple' anymore. Again, if you like you them, I'm not at all saying they're horrible. I just think they get very annoying quickly.

You get, though that its not about playing it better. He could have grabbed a drummer that could play much better but opted not to.

Theres a reason for it. Don't take this the wrong way but it doesn't matter if you can play better, you probably can't play simple.

Oh I realize that. It's just the fact that so many underground/local bands can be like that and they don't get half as much credit as the White Stripes. I just don't think it's fair. What makes them better than all the rest. Thanks for your opinion though =], this is pretty much my first serious time participating in a forum.

There's no such thing as underground and local in the age of myspace, purevolumes and the youtube...if bands don't make it these days, it's because there's not much to see/hear....IMHO naturally. You're welcome to prove us all wrong.

Having heard most of the bands that came from the same garage rock scene as the white stripes did in the latter part of the 1990s I can honestly say the reason they get credit is because they were better than all of them.
