Yes, that is exactly what I mean. Certainly it is all relative. White Blood Cells warrants repeated spins, even to this today.

To me, they really don't have one. Its as if one more good song on each album would push it over the edge but they all have equal greatness and equal flaws.

If I had to pick one though I would say that GBMS has some of the better songs that carry on. Doorbell, Little Ghost, Take,Take,Take, I'm Lonely, Instinct Blues, Denial Twist.

To be fair though, while it has most of my favorite stripes songs, the ones I don't like are some of the worst since the s/t album.
I agree, its quite diffucult to choose a favourite out of their albums. GBMS i'd say would come 2nd after WBC for me.
And i don't mind Aluminium.

Which is fine, but I think we can agree thats filler. Will it be important to peopl 20 years from now? I was over it 20 seconds into the song the first time I'd heard it.

I'd say its important as its part of the album as a whole, and i wouldn't want to take it away.

the new album is good. diverse, lots of git box solos, meg white drumming.... i hate that "bone broke" song though...it seems like one long intro. it seems like it should go into heavy rock beat mode, but it never does.

I don't own too much of the Stripes catalog, but for the most part I dig the nice simplistic, garage band sound. Not too keen on the current single they are playing on the radio (forgive me I don't know the title) only because the solo sounds too disjointed. But the overall mood of the song still has a good vibe.

I like the Stripes. I would buy more albums. Nuff said

Ok i'm new to this site and i had to catch up,now here's my story. I,like most people, didnt know who the White Stripes were until i heard 7NA and then i liked them but not like i do now. What changed things for me was when i heard Icky Thump (the whole album not the single). I thought this was their best cd,but up until then i only had Elephant and White Blood Cells and i only liked maybe 2 songs off them. Anyway so then i went out and bought all their cds in the same day and i was never the same again LOL I also bought Under Blackpool Lights the same day. That dvd hasn't left my player! I watch it every day. I went from being a casual fan to practically dropping my entire life to obsess over them. My favorite songs are Jolene and Little Cream Soda. I am driving 5 hours to see them in October and i dont know how i'm going to make it that long. Anyway, thats my story. Peace out everyone. Jack White is God!!!
