I honestly would say no one in rock music is currently important enough to be an iconic figure in our generation, i'm waiting for that person. But if you were to say, in general the iconic figure in music from our generation is Eminem no doubt.

Are you waiting because you don't want to be wrong, and when time tells you who the icons are then you'll proudly proclaim them like some echo or parrot? Is that why? Becuase right now the rest of us happily laid or guesses and opinions on the line and said "hey, we think these guys are the rock front runners" and what did you do, you went outside the parameters of the argument and picked Eminem who's universally respected and has already stopped making music.

You're a real risk taker there aren't ya razors?

So anyone have any preferences to how they want the new White Stripes album to sound?

I'm hoping for a predominantly, ballsy blues driven album, with a difference.

I'm hoping for some kick ass garage rock a la Elephant.

I`m hoping for both of the above.

That website has to be one of the most irritating sites I have ever laid eyes on

More like 'Elephant' and less like 'Get Behind Me' but with more bluesy influences Urb?

Something like that.A kind of a cross between De Stijl & Elephant would be nice.

Yes exactly. Well maybe if I fractioned it as such:

1/2 De Stijl
1/4 Elephant
1/4 GBMS

I liked some of the white boy funk piano tracks and certainly the traditional country arrangement on "I'm lonely"

Elephant was great but I don't want another Zeppelin for the IROC driving mullet heads of the midwest to champion. What I liked about Elephant was that it had some paired down tracks, Hypnotize I thought was an undersold track on that album and Ball and a Biscuit might have been the best thing on there. And the best thing about Elephant was that the most popular track was ****ing amazing, Seven Nation Army was easily the ebst thing I'd heard in a long long time.

De Stijl was obviously their best to date. So I hope theirs a majority of the influence from there, but that was back when they were heavy on the child-side, and I sort of hate that. All the "Lets be friends" and school songs kind of blow, theres a way to sound child-like without pretending you're children.

I do hope there are more blues tracks though, Instinct Blues, While underdeveloped was completly ****ing badass, and thats how I like my Stripes, describable only in language too stupid to make real reviews.

I truly think Meg White is the worst drummer in recorded history.
