I feel the same way about AoL. I prefer Superchunk through and through but the two always get compared because of the Chapel Hill connection so I thought I'd let em duke it out. That Superchunk album, Foolish, is pretty damn good and I suggest checking it out. It's my favorite Superchunk.

Oh, and they have a new album dropping in two weeks!

Not to be rude, but both songs were horrible LOL. The video of AoL was....odd. And Superchunk had more of a flow to it.

Superchunk - 4
Archers of Loaf - 1

Cool, I do intend to check out some of their earlier albums. The only one I ever heard was Here's to Shutting Up and I thought it was pretty bad. I understand it's a different style from their older stuff, though.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

NC belongs to Superchunk.

Finally, a nomination (and it's a good one too)!

Savage Republic - 'Exodus' (Tragic Figures 1982)

vs.

Sun City Girls - 'Space Prophet Dogon' (Torch of the Mystics 1990)

A very good war this one.

I've only heard one Savage Republic album (Ceremonial + Trudge), and I have no idea why I still haven't checked another out because it's fantastic. This song here I've not heard, but I gave it a listen there and I dig it very much. The Sun City Girls song is one of my favourites by them, though, so I'm gonna vote for that one. Now to find some more Savage Republic albums!

Savage Republic 0
Sun City Girls 1

This one is from their first album, which is probably my favorite, along with Jamahiriya. But Ceremonial and Customs are also brilliant, although different. I recommend all of these. But I don't think I have Trudge. That's an EP, right?

Anyway, I still can't decide which one I love more. Savage Republic has been one of my favorites for a long time, especially this album and this song. On the other hand I just recently started listening to Sun City Girls. The fact that I can't decide just shows how deeply Sun City Girls have affected me. When I heard Torch of the Mystics, it reminded me immediately of the similar ethno flavour that Savage Republic often has.

yeah it's an EP, it was tagged on to the end of Ceremonial I believe. Thanks for the suggestions, I'm downloading their first album just now.

Eagles, by far.

this is a tough call... like choosing between Cancer and AIDS.

on one hand I don't even bother keeping a copy of Stairway when i rip LZ4.

on the other i don't ever plan on owning anything by The Eagles.

though Stairway has an actual rocking breakdown so that's their edge in my book.

so i guess it's tied

LZ - 1
eagles - 1
