I'm back. Send me some nominations and I'll get this thing going.
Now, for Battle Dubstep Covers of Alternative Rock Icons: 'Where Is My Mind?' by Bassnectar (Pixies cover)
vs. 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Dual (Nirvana cover)

Electronic remixes of rock songs generally spell FAIL in my book. These are really no exception, except that I did enjoy the second half of the Pixies remix, the instrumental all-electronic part. I think that's how these types of remixes should be. Take the groove, but make it your own style. I hate the way it starts pretty much sounding just like the original and not a remix. I get that they were trying to make it seem like it was morphing, I just don't care for that or need it. Twist that shit up into whatever genre you're creating, leave out the vocals and guitars, just leave me a recognizable groove.
Same applies to the Nirvana remix...except I liked it less. Too many of the vocals remain. Sounds like a shit remix/mashup I'd hear at some trendy douche club. We get it...there are cool scissor sound effects you can make in your dubstep. This track is gimmicky/cliche as all hell. Bassnectar 3 Dual 0
