The dominate music genre is whatever your personal favorite style of music my be, individual preference.
I agree that the Beatles are a major influence and that the 60s era is important mainly concerning the rock genre, but no more important than the 50s Rock & Roll is, or 70s rock with bands like Led Zepplin, etc. If I had to choose one certain genre that is one of the most influencial genres as a' whole', without splitting off into different era's, bands, and so on. I would pick the 'Rock Genre', right or wrong its not really that important, or that it even matters either way, so I voted for one of my personal favorite genre's, Soul & Funk. |

Exactly. I hope sh!t, processed pop music will always be the dominant musical genre so all the great music will never be tainted by radio overplay, reality tv shows and casual fans who don't really give much of a hoot about music anyway. I think things are perfect the way they are now.
