Boring mathematical wankery. He was progressive for sure but the music lacks any real emotion imo. And no, I'm not ****ing around.

It's because it works. Sometimes people's vomiting of stream of consciousness lyrics ends up becoming great songwriting if the vomit is somewhat truthful and backed up by good music. Same goes for Dylan and a bunch of other famous people who spewed normal words in an interesting way
