James Hetfield
Can't take any of his lyrics seriously and to think a lot of people dig to deep into them.

Ringo Starr
C'mon he's a drummer!

Phil Collins
I never got why so many people find his songs amazing.

No one rates Ringo as a songwriter

Morrisey. The Smiths were great, but some people think this guy is God. Most of what I've heard from his solo material is just meh too(I haven't heard alot but still).Alot of people think his lyrics are amazing, they're good, not amazing.

Even as a huge Genesis fan I never thought highly of him as a stand alone songwriter. It was the other members who made most of the songwriting contributions.

And I never thought his solo material was held in high regard.

Is there a rule that states drummers cant be songwriters? Because Robert Wyatt wants to have a word with you.

Nah I'm just giving Ringo crap he seems to have gotten a bad rep. and it's funny not to take him seriously as a songwriter.

lots of drummers are perfectly capable at making music, think about J. Tillman (the drummer for Fleet Foxes) he actually plays a bunch of instruments and his albums are amazing

but i don't like ringo either but it's not because he's a drummer

They do? I mean at their peak Metallica made some great music but lyrics have never been their strong suit.
