Default Does this bass guitar suit for a new player?

Hi, guys. I'm a new player of bass guitar. Recently, I found a site " Dinnel "to sell guitar very cheap. I choose a green one but I'm not sure whether it suits for me. Can u give me some advices? Thanks a lot.

Rockman? I think I've never heard of this brand so I can't really say anything about it. The site looks strange since it isn't primarly a music shop so I would recommend you to check out a more established music shop before ordering. And for the bass I recommend you for example a Squier bass since I think it's good one for a new player and I think you can get them in your prize range but there are a little more expencive once too. If you are european Thomann would be a good place to order from.
Oh yeah this should be in the talk instruments thread. Next time search the forum more closely before making a new thread.

I hope this helped you

the site clearly advertises itself as selling Chinese knock-offs. you'll be getting exactly what you pay for - junk.

here's the product description...

1. Body: Solid Wood
2. Neck: Top Maple
3. Fingerboard: Top Rosewood
4. 1 volume and 1 tone knob, 5-way switch
5. Strings length

'solid' is not a kind of wood, 'top' is not a grade of wood quality either. 5-way switch is 2 positions too many for only 2 pickups. strings length... what?

there are really only two things you need to verify when buying an instrument - 1) does it stay in tune? 2) does it look cool?

if it looks cool then you'll be more inclined to pick it up, and if it stays in tune you'll be better able to make it sound cool and begin to develop your own style. it's impossible to tell just from photos, but i wouldn't trust anything from a site like that as being quality.

are there no music stores close to you?
