I totally forgot about these guys. I used to love them when I was in high school, along with Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. But when I started getting into some very different kinds of music, I just couldn't bring myself to hear them anymore. Of those three, only Zeppelin I can still listen here and there. Funny how our tastes can change so much.

It seems a lot of people start off getting into these kinds of classic rock bands and then later they get into the more hip indie stuff.
For me it was kinda the reverse. I was into stuff like My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth and Pavement before I got into a lot of classic rock stuff like Sabbath, Heep, Purple, Tull, Cooper, etc. And before I caught the prog fever. Today because of all the different styles of music I have acquired over the years I just go back and forth in different phases and I just listen to different things at random all the time. Yeah that's another band I forgot to mention, the Gab era is well liked enough, but I'm an avid defender of the Phil era at least until Invisible Touch, which marks the point where Genesis became indistinguishable from Phil's solo work, which I'm not a fan of. With the exception of this one, which sums up his solo career pretty well. Last edited by boo boo; 06-24-2010 at 02:02 PM. |
