Tortured geniuses
 

James' thread has had a knock on effect. It got me thinking of those geniuses that were troubled.

Morrison?

Why was Morrison tortured? I know very little about him other than he was a bit of an alkie and liked his drugs.

He was an alcoholic.

I know lots of alcoholics, they're all chirpy enough. I might have to watch a documentary on The Doors/Jim Morrison soon.

That's why I added the question mark. He was a genius, but I'm not sure he was tortured

Lee Mavers could be classed as a tortured genius.

The happy alcoholic is nonexistant. Besides, he was a little self-absorbed and moody, if I'm not mistaken.

Elliot Smith also fits this archtype.

i wouldn't call them geniuses... especially not cobain
