^You didn't hear about how he kicked Jimmy out of the band after inviting him to be part of the reunion? Corgan's reasoning for kicking him out was just that Jimmy was a "destructive person." Jimmy is off drugs, seems sober in every interview, but yet, he's a destructive person. Not to mention he's just selfish. But really, who would trade Jimmy Chamberlin, one of the greatest drummers of the 90s, for a teenage rookie like Mike Byrne? Only Billy Corgan would do that, because he's an ***hole.

I knew there was a rift in the band, but I wasn't sure who was to blame or what happened. After Mellon Collie/Adore I really wasn't bothered about them. What reason would Billy have for kicking him out of the band though? Billy was always the front man, Billy always was the songwriter who got the credit for being the driving force of the band. Why kick out a good drummer when he doesn't take away any of the attention?

"In an interview, Albini reported that ‘Rapeman’ is “… the title character in a Japanese comic book that I had come across through a friend of mine. The comic book is just a total mind-bender. There’s a whole genre of comics in Japan, rape stories where women are raped in really graphic detail for whatever reason, and it’s an amazing thing that this is just an accepted part of their sort of normal popular culture.” Albini and Washam became “sort of obsessed” with the comic, and named their new group after the titular antihero. Rapeman’s performances would often be the target of protestors, who felt that the band was mocking or even encouraging rape and violence against women. Albini has described such criticisms as idiotic, arguing that punk ideology is generally very sympathetic to feminism." |

Billy has actually fired Jimmy twice. In the original lineup, midtour for Mellon Collie, Jimmy and the pumpkins keyboard player(I think he was the keyboard player) were doing heroin. When the keyboard player died, and Billy found out about Jimmy's drug problem, he fired Jimmy. After Machina(2000), the Smashing Pumpkins disbanded. Later, in 2005, Billy announced a reunion.(But without James and D'arcy) After their reunion album Zeitgeist was released, it was announced Jimmy left the band. Jimmy said the split was amicable. But later on Corgan said he actually fired Jimmy. When asked why, Corgan said Jimmy was still a "destructive person." I guess nobody really knows how or why they split except for Corgan. |

This is kind of ****ed up.
"Axl Rose has responded to an offer by soft drink company Dr Pepper in which they promised a free can of their drink to every American - except Slash and Buckethead - if the band releases their 'Chinese Democracy' album this year." |
