Cool photos - and I know it's a symbol of *rebellion*, but I never understood why musicians smash beautiful guitars.

Sure the first time with Townsend it was because he was pissed off at an amp for blowing up on him. It got the band a lot of attention though so he kept doing it and the crowds kept getting bigger.

I'm a bit frustrated, being semi-immobile these days. Maybe I should smash my Telecaster and Guild M-120 into my Fender Frontman.

Edit: Is that an Alembic in your av, Chula? Nice guitar.

Ibanez's take on one. They had a line of a number of versions.
This isn't mine (LONG gone) but it's the exact same model.

At first I didn't care for this photo much, ribbons, but thinking about it, ND looking like a secret agent in his own family home is actually quite appropriate, given his sense of alienation.

Here's a photo of Judy Collins and Stephen Stills, enjoying a fleeting, private moment. Although we don't know the joke, thanks to the camera we can share to some extent a moment that has become less private, less fleeting....

Nice stain and grain on that one, Chula.

You always come up with interesting narratives for these photos, Lisna.
"My name is Drake. Nick Drake." LOL
I just like the way his velvet blazer matches the sofa.

Maybe not quite so fleeting a moment - I believe Judy and Stephen were an *item* for a few years.

Thank you, ribbons!

You're right, the whole photo is full of shades of a similar colour. Blending in - the art of the successful spy

Yes, as I'm sure you know she was the inspiration behind Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.

Meanwhile, a world away from Judy Blue Eyes, Ukrainian group DakhaBrakha looked sinister and surreal during this photo-shoot, especially the figure third from left, who really knows how to wear a mirror:

^ What a brilliant concept with those mirrors reflecting the dark forestland. And yes, the photo makes me want to listen to DhakaBrakha - never heard of them before.

Please explain that band to me quick, otherwise my imagination is going to completely run amok.

1968 - Loud

1977 - Louder
