Mr. Bungle
Disco Volante>Mr. Bungle>California Though their early releases had some standout tracks (i.e. Mr. Nice Guy, Thunderball cover) I'd still put those after the three studio albums. The S/T really got me into the band but Disco Volante covers so many territories while containing as many strong tracks on their own. California is also a hell of an album but I think third is fair. |

Agreed. Though I'd put the self-titled before Disco Volante, personally.

Personal preference and nostalgia. Bossanova is the first Pixies album I heard and some of their best songs are there like 'Cecilia Ann', although later I learned it's actually a cover of some 60s band The Surftones. Also there are other very good songs like 'Blown Away', 'Rock Music', 'Ana', 'Down to the Well', 'Velouria' etc. I just like a whole sunny vibe of the album. And besides, Doolittle never did much for me.

than you need to listen to it more. you can like bossanova more, but REALLY listen to doolittle and there is almost no way to not appreciate it. it's environmental undertones, its strong and pervasive musical arrangements, its cryptic yet poetic and moving images all just blend together to create one brilliant freakin album
