THAT IS NO EXCUSE. THAT IS FALSE

Both Powerslave and NOTB have some horrible filler for me and apart from Quest For Fire, Piece Of Mind is so underated. Both Still Life and To Tame A Land are absolute belters.
ACES HIGH
2 MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT
LOSFER WORDS (BIG 'ORRA)
FLASH OF THE BLADE
BACK IN THE VILLAGE
POWERSLAVE
RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER

WHAT IS THE FILLER? LOSFER WORDS? IT'S A GOOD SONG YOU GIT, DON'T DISMISS IT BECAUSE THERE'S NO WORDS

NUMBER OF THE BEAST IS ALSO PRETTY KICKIN', YOU'RE JUST WHACK BRO

yeah

I feel ashamed that I don't feel qualified to do this for some of my favorites band, but I got some.

The Flaming Lips:
The Soft Bulletin>Clouds Taste Metallic>Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots>Transmissions from the Satellite Heart>Embryonic>In a Priest Driven Ambulance>Hit to Death in the Future Head>Telepathic Surgery>At War with the Mystics>haven't heard the rest

Slint (this is easy):
Spiderland>Tweez

Pixies:
Doolittle>Trompe le Monde>Surfer Rosa>Bossanova>Come On Pilgrim

Pretty good - but for me there's no way Labor Days can go behind anything but Float - if that.

Quiet down - my list is HEAVY as hell. 7th Son is only there because I was an impressionable teen when it was released. If I was a diehard fan who didn't have that particular nostalgia then it wouldn't even be on my list

David Bowie: (this is hard)
Diamond Dogs
Hunky dory
Low
Earthling
Ziggy
Lodger
Day in Day out
Young Americans
Tonight

A Reality Tour deserves a mention somewhere in here, it's a great mix of songs and all done well.

Pretenders:

Pretenders (1980)
Learning to Crawl (1984)
Pretenders II (1981)
Get Close (1986)
Live From London (2010)
Break Up the Concrete (2009)
Viva el Amor (1999)
Last of the Independents (1994)
Loose Screw (2002)
Isle of View (1995)
Packed! (1990)

I think the Pretenders debut album is, song for song, the best pop album of the 80s and maybe the best pop album of all time. I still get adrenalin surges when I play it. There isn't a single bad song on the entire album. The only other album that is as "near perfect" as the Pretenders debut is Forever Changes (1967) by Love, which also doesn't have a single throwaway cut.
