Quiet down - my list is HEAVY as hell. 7th Son is only there because I was an impressionable teen when it was released. If I was a diehard fan who didn't have that particular nostalgia then it wouldn't even be on my list

Pretenders:
Pretenders (1980) Learning to Crawl (1984) Pretenders II (1981) Get Close (1986) Live From London (2010) Break Up the Concrete (2009) Viva el Amor (1999) Last of the Independents (1994) Loose Screw (2002) Isle of View (1995) Packed! (1990) I think the Pretenders debut album is, song for song, the best pop album of the 80s and maybe the best pop album of all time. I still get adrenalin surges when I play it. There isn't a single bad song on the entire album. The only other album that is as "near perfect" as the Pretenders debut is Forever Changes (1967) by Love, which also doesn't have a single throwaway cut. |
