With some bands I feel like Greatest Hits and Best Of's are necessary. Some bands released really inconsistent albums and had only certain songs that were good. I know that most of the time GH and BoC's don't manage to list the best songs, but at times they manage to do it.

Some bands were extremely consistent and comps of this type aren't needed for you to get really good material.

I guess I'm just neutral on the topic, I would rather have the full lengths, but sometimes the comps are the best/only thing that you can manage.
