Default 5 songs that better be on your iPod or your iPod is crrrap - the thread

Credit goes to Jedey (I think) for the original "100 songs to have on your iPod or it's crrrap" thread, which inspired me to start this thread.

For the purposes of this thread, "iPod" is defined as "MP3 player of your choice"

One of the primary reasons I joined MusicBanter was to discover new music. So far, that endeavor has been a fantastic success. I regularly check many threads (especially the 'Albums You're Digging' one) and jot down the names of artists who intrigue me, which leads to investigation at a later date when I'm able to acquire works of those artists for my personal use.

I figure this thread could help with artist/song discovery, as well as provoking discussion and providing entertainment. The idea is to post five songs that you'd hope to find on any random stranger's iPod.

Well, here goes nothing.
1. Brand New - Seventy Times 7

This song (according to Wikipedia) was written after Jesse's (lead singer of Brand New) best friend, a then-member of Taking Back Sunday, slept with his girlfriend. I find that it perfectly depicts teenage heartbreak and angst, and it's been my "angry song" for a long time.
2. The Cure - Just Like Heaven
Another deeply emotional song, I absolutely love the way Smith wrote and sings the lyrics.
3. Rod Stewart - Maggie May
4. Don McLean - American Pie
This song IS culture. I've read many interpretations of the lyrics (since Don has almost entirely refused to explain them, aside from the song itself being about the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly), and it's just astounding what people can extract from this song.
5. Guster - Satellite

1.Os Mutantes-Panis Et Circenses
2.Dog Faced Hermans-Hear The Dogs
3.Leonard Cohen-Famous Blue Raincoat
4.Boredoms-(Circle)
5.Junk-F U Frank

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

In no order;
1. The Rolling Stones - Hide Your Love
^ Everything that blues-rock has over any other genre is within this song.

2. Electronic - Getting Away With It
^ Electronic's (made from bits of New Order, the Smiths, Kraftwerk and the Pet Shop Boys) first and easily best single. Sheer pop perfection.

3. Burning Spear - Tradition
^ For reasons something like the Stones song I've already mentioned, as in everything reggae has over all other music can be heard here.

4. The Future Sound Of London - Omnipresence
^ Stands as what people who say they hate 'techno' are missing out on.

5. The Flying Burrito Brothers - Hot Burrito #1
^ Ditto for 'country'.

That Electronic song is one of my greatest musical disappointments, I expected it to be awesome because of it having two of my favorite musicians but it was utter crap I think

Five songs that better be on your whatever but you probably don't have anyway

1. Cold Wars - Family Fodder
2. Hungry, So Angry - Medium Medium
3. Der Kommisar - Falco
4. What Difference Does It Make? - The Smiths
5. Rudie Can't Fail - The Clash

Everyone should have this song on their iPod so that they can listen to it right before they start a shift:
