artist-song-why

Metallica- One (S&M version)- heavy and beautiful. Best Metallica song? (the live version?)

Buckethead- The Landing Beacon- best Buckethead song, and best Michael Jackson tribute

Sixx A.M.- Life is Beautiful- best Sixx A.M. song, even though they only have one album.

Guns 'N Roses- Estranged- Their best song, aside from maybe the last song couple of songs on Chinese Democracy (but that's not Guns 'N Roses, really). I chose this, not because it's better, but because it's more essential. This is true Guns 'N Roses, off of their best album (UYI2 for life).

Dream Theater- Octavarium- from what I've heard, best DT song by far. There's a middle section that's kind of dull but the begining and the end... My God... I don't think I've heard anything like it...

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Castles Made of Sand
Favorite Hendrix song. The tempo is amazing along with the trippy guitar work.
Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away
What an incredible song a must have for anyone who appreciates music in the slightest!
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
Best Pink Floyd song.
Smashing Pumpkin - Mayonaise
One of the great things about songs is that they can be interpreted many ways. This songs lyrics are extremley vague and lets the listener relate to it in there own way. Because of this that's what makes this song amazing.
I like this list, especially for Mayonnaise and Castles Made of Sand. The others are not favorites by those artists but are still very good.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

1. Can - Moonshake

Classic Krautrock with some swing in it's soul. If you don't have this then there's something wrong goin' on.

2. Peter Gabriel - The Rhythm Of The Heat

An off-kilter piece that embodies the 80's fascination with 3rd world rhythms while still sounding fresh today. Gotta love the last minute and a half especially!

3. Nujabes - World's End Rhapsody

One of the best single tracks from the man who was the coolest producer in hip-hop. R.I.P.!

4. Coheed & Cambria - Guns Of Summer

Emo-proggers go industrial with awesome results. Guess a new drummer really does make all the difference!

5. Luther Vandross - Never Too Much

The coolest motherfucker on the planet. If the bass doesn't get you drooling, then his voice and everything else will.

I know. I own the album and its ****. (the english version). I'd rather they quit pandering to the dollar bill and stuck to the german version.

Bob Dylan- Subterranean Homesick Blues. You just need a Bob Dylan song on your mp3 player.
Pink Floyd- Let There Be More Light (screw it, the whole album). Psychedelia at it's finest.
Jeff Buckley- Morning Theft.
Radiohead- Paranoid Android. For that amazing mood changing song, with futuristic guitars and all that shizzam.
Talking Heads- The Great Curve. For those beats.

quite obvious ones, really.

1) Rise Against - Give It All - when this comes on i just HAVE to (badly) sing every word, such great energy and power in it, even though it is not my favourite song by them...just get them all! ;D

2)Joe Satriani - Surfing With The Alien - just because you should. do i even need a reason?

3) Alkaline Trio - Radio - In fact, everything by them, especially the albums Maybe I'll Catch Fire and From Here To Infirmary.

4) Bellowhead - Bruton Town - because it is totally folking great.

5) In Flames - Brush The Dust Away - cos i couldn't have a list without something metal!
