Not meaning to flog a dead horse here, but I wasn't saying Led Zep didnt indulge in wankery, hence the fact I agreed with 'Hendrix and Page do similiar'. I was simply providing an example of good wankery in my humble opinion.

that, or obviously bitter middle aged man is STILL whining about how the mainstream passed his acid washed jeans by damn near 20 years ago and still wants to think he's got something relevant to say. |

And 16 years after the band split up, music still hasn't recovered from how awful they were.. |

I'd respond to this, but that would just be dignifying this stupid thread with discussion. |

yeah, he was a sellout, big deal. he made great music. There's nothing wrong with selling out if your making good music and doing what you love. cuz then it's not really selling out, is it? |

Nirvana didn't so much inspire as they opened the floodgates for a number of alternative rock bands to flow through.
Nirvana gave a certain type of underground music to get mainstream recognition. Most of the bands that came after were doing their own thing before Nirvana, some of them way before. If the music that came after blew, it was the fault of the band itself.
