Top 5 favorite Non-US-charting Albums, 1968
Nico - The Marble Index The Bonniwell Music Machine The Seeds Raw and Alive (They made up for the awful Future too late...) Scott Walker - Scott 2 (A Massive UK hit that hardly registered in The States) Psych-Out (Soundtrack) Top 5 favorite Non-US-Charting Albums, 1967 13'th Floor Elevators - Easter Everywhere (Should have been big!) The Trip (Soundtrack) The Standells - Try It Chocolate Watchband - No Way Out Scott Walker - Scott (Or, in it's US title...Aloner. At least Smash kept the songs and back liner notes intact. A major UK hit, instant cut out in The US). |

My favorite Dead Milkmen song is 'Swordfish', but that's because Big Lizard is the only album I have. Which one should I try next?

Top 5 Tracks from Hollywood Hi-Fi, a Golden Throats Comp that should have been better known in all of it's lovely ear-covering wretchedness.
Jayne Mansfield - That Makes It (Take "Chantilly Lace," replace the vocals with Jayne's cooing and oohing, and you have a winner!) Joe Pesci - Got to Get You Into My Life (One out of millions of bad Beatles covers, this one stands out. Imagine you're in a seriously badly ran lounge, circa 1966-69, and you're almost there.) Sissy Spacek - John You Went Too Far This Time (Out of all of the hundreds of Bad Beatles Exploitation records, this one is among the ultimate jaw-droppers. It went overboard with the Dramatics over the Two Virgins cover.) Joe E. Ross - Ooh! Ooh! (Clear the room with this one!) Ted Cassidy - The Lurch (Imitation Motown-Style Soul with what sounds like a parody of all of the Dance records around, complete with Lurch all over the place. Possibly the lowest impact Dance, ever). |
